With much regret putting up my very recently acquired p bass. I bought this from eubassix from this very forum. I prefer a thinner neck.

Its a 1999 USA standard which has a rare limited edition (500) one year only, genuine USA 1996 fender 50th anniversary body. The body is real book matched maple, front and back. Its a pretty sweet bass. And has a rare one year only finish too.

Its naturally a little roadworn and has been a working instrument. It plays very well.
It has some typical marks see pics and some on the rear of the headstock and some very small marks on the neck near the headstock. But still a very nice instrument in decent condition.
It really looks the part and theres not too many proper fender flame maple p basses about, the body is pretty rare.
Everything works as it should, level frets which have been re levelled, crowned and polished to a mirror finish. Now strung with roundwounds.

In the picture of the rear of the body the sunburst looks funny, this is just the camera, it looks just as nice as the other side. Flash on the base pic also makes the dark purple and scratches really stand out in reality it's much darker mostly looks black and the marks are not as noticeable.

Now traded many thanks to the bc forum? original fender red label hard case. Posted fully insured, well packed in its case then in a large outer box plenty of packaging etc. I do have a bc feedback thread, last bass I sold was a lovely fender p bass special which I wish I kept now http://basschat.co.uk/topic/226645-twincams-feedback/

TRADES YES anything considered that's 4 string try me. Preferably with a thinner than 42mm nut width.

This is a bargain, and a great P bass. I got it via a trade against my Lakland 4402dlx. and Aidan got to see/play it before buying it for the £650 it 'effectively' owed me. It was in good condition, played nicely and came with the Fender case. I wasn't aware of the ususual nature of the flamed body - Aidan sourced that info and has also spent a lot of time perfecting the frets and micro-cleaning the bridge etc. I'm not sure as to whether the body was swapped later or if it was the type of thing Fender did at various times (using existing stock parts that may not have been originally intended to go together). Previous owner was very genuine and had owned/played the bass for years.
