Due to my recent acquisition of a very lovely 1982 JV Precision, I am considering moving on my differently lovely G&L JB.

Does what it says on the headstock - Leo's final take on his original Jazz bass:

I bought it in Oct 2013 from the original owner who had bought it in 2009 as a special order direct from the US. I don't remember all the details (if I can dig anything up I'll post it), but I believe it may have been a special finish - it's a red metallic which I would probably best describe as dark burgundy. As far as I can tell from their web site not a current colour. Also a parchment scratch plate, which I believe was non-standard.

It's in virtually mint condition ... I think I noticed one very slight hairline surface scratch, but I'll have a good look in daylight and try and get some clearer photos.

It plays beautifully and has great resonance and sustain - even unamplified it sounds a dream - possibly the best Jazz I have ever played ... so I may change my mind when I next play it (hence 'Feeler ... ').

RRP for a standard model was listed as over £2,000 last time Bass Direct had one in, and they were offering a couple of used examples in the last year or so for around £1,300 (if I remember correctly), so I'm looking for £975 collected (with G&L branded hard case) - delivery by negotiation if required, but I'd much prefer it to be seen and played first.

Comes with certificate of authenticity, which I have obviously filed away somewhere safe, so will have to dig that out!

Also consider trades with cash my way, e.g. for a lower priced Jazz (an early JV Squier Jazz would be tempting), or if something else took my fancy ...
