Welcome Simon68.

I have found that the online tutoring can be very useful and hooked up with the Scott Whitley and Scott Devine sites. It may not replace face to face but it has helped me exile one or two bad habits.

I do a lot of online learning, it's great. Lots of very good stuff on YouTube.

it always pays to have someone watch you play once in a while to point out any bad habits you pick up.

Also, helps to loosely follow a structured plan, either from a book or with someone like Scott define or finbar bass.
Otherwise your learning will be scattered and slow.

Thanks for the advise I will try and find a local tutor to look over what i am doing before i get it to wrong.

I have seen the Scott Devine site and a friend who plays acoustic swears by Jamplay so may look at them to help with the theory and to make it more affordable.

Welcome Simon

We need another Simon on the Forum - down to our last 20 or so.. ;) ;)

Big fan of both Scott Devine and Scott Whitley, in fact The Hat is currently having lessons with SW so that may be your connection to "live" lessons..
