Hi

So having owned for many years a MIJ Tune Bassmaniac, I was curious to compare with the later Korean models. In all honesty, what I discovered is that this bass is as good, if not better than (e.g. the bridge), the Japanese classics. Which means that this is amazing value for money!

It is a 2006 model with bubinga front and back, Tune's own pickups and 2-band pre. This particular model has 20 mm string spacing at the bridge, hence the nickname. It also has a switch to cut mids. It is an excellent bass all around, particular highlights for me are:

- it has the 'Tune tone' - clear, snappy highs, and a sweet low end. Works equally well for slap, fingerstyle and pick
- the neck! Supremely comfortable, super-fast and not as skinny as on the Bassmaniac
- the aluminum bridge, fantastic design

Specs are here: http://www.tuneguitars.com/#!swv4-bb-spec/c1ra2

The bass has signs of use, but none offending. Weight is 3.8 kg. Comes with original, immaculate Tune padded gig bag. Shipping included.

I will seriously consider getting another in the future, but none of my FS basses are moving...

Cheers

Very glad to hear that - it deserves a loving home! This one is just as good, but with a different sound palette (high and low frequencies are centered at different points compared to the Bass Maniac, and it has the mid cut switch). The perfect companion if you are up for it! :D

Forgot to mention: the brass nut design is also impressive - and adjustable

Isn't that an early Warwick Just-a-nut?
Interesting bass though.
