Hi Folks,

It’s here… At long last. The 10th Basschat South East Bass Bash!! :)

Date: Saturday 24th September 2016
Time: 10am - 5pm
Entry: £10
Venue: Jubilee High School, Surrey, School Lane, Addlestone, Surrey KT15 1TE
Venue link: Jubilee High School Website
MAP LINK

More details on the precise running order will follow in due course, but here’s a brief preview of what we have in store for you at this year’s Bash:

Guest Speakers:
Herbie Flowers
Herbie's worked with just about everybody over the years and in this year particularly - with the passing of the late, great David Bowie - it's both a very proud and very poignant moment to announce that Herbie has agreed to come and share some words of wisdom with us at The Bash and hopefully, a story or two about working with the 'Starman' himself!
For more info on Herbie’s work as a Bassist, Arranger & Composer, please look here: http://www.herbieflowers.com/

John Bentley
Obviously he's known primarily for his work with Squeeze, but there's a lot more to John's work as a session musician, writer and producer over the years and he's got some great stories to share with us at The Bash!
More info can be found here: http://www.johnbentl.../Biography.html

Manufacturers/Distributors etc:
Wal Basses
We’re very proud that Paul Herman from Wal has agreed to be our guest on the day, and as a fan of Wal basses myself for many years, I’m particularly pleased Paul can be with us this year.
More info on Wal can be found here: http://www.walbasses.co.uk/

D’Addario UK
Andrew Needham has agreed to come down again this year, which is great news as he did a great talk last year.
More info can be found here: http://daddario.com/

The Original Scratchplate Company
Tim, aka TimAl, is coming along on the day, so if you want to talk to him about some of his very cool custom scratchplates and pickguards, this is your chance!
More info can be found here: http://www.originalscratchplates.com/

Set-Ups etc:
Ian Robinson, who is my local luthier here on the south coast and who also plays a mean Mandolin, is joining us at the Bash for the first time, so if you'd like your bass (or guitar) set up on the day, Ian's your man!

There may well be one or two other surprise guests to announce as we get nearer to the date, so 'watch this space'!

Other important info:
Format: We may make a few changes to this after last year, but it will be something along these lines....

1 x general area to set up your gear, plus 1 x quiet room/workshop area with workshops through the day, plus Jamming room, plus cafeteria, plus Raffle

Spaces: again, we may make a few changes to this, but something along these lines:

The Quiet Room and the Theatre for Workshops
The Jamming Room for jamming with drummers (and other strange non-bass playing people)
Main Hall (where you can set up your gear and make some low frequency vibrations)

Cost: £10
Last year, it cost about £185 for the hire of the venue plus an amount for some public liability insurance cover therefore to cover those basic costs, we need to charge £10 per head entrance fee to one and all!

Charities: We will donate all profits from the day to a worthy cause or two (details to be confirmed):

Refreshments will be available on the day for a small charge of course which will help increase the profits and keep everyone happy! Last year, as ever, Hamster & Mrs Hamster did all the work on that and have offered to do so again, so many thanks in advance to them!

Workshops
See above for already confirmed workshops but because the talks and workshops really do add so much to the day, we are always interested to hear of any ideas/requests from the Forum, so please let us know..

How you can Help/Get Involved
What would be really helpful from everyone who's interested in participating on the day is:

1. Donations of raffle prizes
2. Ideas/requests for the workshops
3. Volunteers to help out on the day (if needs be)

Attendees:
It's always good to know who's coming and what gear they'll be bringing so to get the ball rolling here's a list of the people we know who are coming:

01. Hamster -
02. Silverfoxnik - BC Rich Eagle, Hayman 4040, Schecter Diamond P5, Ampeg V4BH amp & 115 Classic cab

It'd be great to have loads of people there on the day but the bottom line is that, to make this event pay for itself and to be able to donate something to charity, we need a minimum of 30 people...

So, come on folks; sign up!!

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you there :)

I can make this! :)

Does anyone want me to do a talk about speakers or audio or Barefaced or bass or any of my Mastermind specialist subjects?

My car isn't that huge so I'm not sure how much of the Barefaced range I can bring - if I know what won't be here then I'll bring those bits. I'll bring my RIM Custom 5 because it's awesome.

Any chance of the 410/610/810's? I'd like to try the Marshall Superbass through them.
