Downsizing to single 12 cabs

Due to a mixture of weight and storage issues and more importantly most gigs coming up are in small to medium pubs I want to change my cabs.

I currently use a TC electronic BC212 and do have another one but very rarely need to use both other than to elevate the one cab I'm using. These cabs are OK but not the lightest.
I like the sound of 12s so wanted to move to two single 12s therefore having the ability to only use 1 at small pub gigs and practising.
I use a hartke LH500 amp and play a squier VM jazz. We play jam and who covers and it's just me plus one guitar and drums.

Budget is prob £150-£250 per cab so will have to be second hand and I will buy one first and then get a second later.
(I could use 1 paired up with a bC212 until I get another one if need be)
Be interested to hear some suggestions but so far am keen on
Hartke hydrive 112
Fender rumble 1x12 V3

Thanks in advance

Does it have to be 12s? I went from a 212 setup to a 2 x 112 as I thought the two 12s would be easier, but I found that 1 x 112 wasn't enough to get over a loud drummer on it's own so ended up taking both with me everywhere anyway.

I've since moved to a 210 which is plenty loud enough and not much bigger than the 112 :)

I do still want to add a matching 112 at some point though to give me more options for smaller / really big gigs.

I havent got experience of the cabs you mention, but i personally play through TKS S112s and love them.
Obviously, Barefaced have a great reputation around here too.
If i were in your position, i'd possibly try and hold off, and save a little extra to increase your budget.
Get a lot more lightweight cab options if you can raise your budget about £100.
Like i say though, maybe if i played through a Fender 1X12 i may change my opinion

I`ve heard the Hydrives and they sound good. Plus I think they are switchable between 4 & 8ohms, so you can always get full power from the amp. Fender Rumbles, well I`m yet to hear any of the Rumbles, be it series 1, 2 or 3 that I don`t like.

There are a couple up for grabs here (please note, no affiliation with this store, just spotted them the other day and thought a pretty good deal):

The two below ads are in the classifieds of this forum - very close to your budget & both great cabs for the money (I have no affiliation to either).

I sold my Bergantino C112 (pair) to get Barefaced One10. Only 1 at the mo, but I'll get getting a second when I off load a few other bits.

they are £299 and are light and loud. Very impressed indeed. The sound is deeper than the Bergs.

That's interesting! Mmm..

if it were me I'd wait a bit and have some more $$$ available.

If very light weight is the main objective, I find the TKS S112 very hard to beat. It is not the loudest, but it sounds very good and it is extremely portable. I love those.
If you don't mind a little heavier and bigger... the Barefaced BB2 is not quite as portable and a lot more expensive, but a single one of those can be surprisingly loud and I personally don't like it as much as the S112 for sheer sound, but it's very good too, in my opinion. You might be happy with just one of those, perhaps.

Been using a pair of these for a year and very happy with them. Have gigged with just one very happily, but like the extra oomph of the pair.

Cool. Will be trying them out tomorrow

I appreciate the advice from all and accept that if I get more cash together I can get better but that's not an option at the moment.
