This is a feeler.

I bought this 2 months ago from the US, got stung for import etc.

Probably paid a bit too much but, when you chase a dream etc.

It's a matsumoku neck through P/J with an 18v circuit, and it's got a very clever little preamp with a selectable midrange sweep. It sounds very much like an Alembic (wah half cocked, if that makes sense) when the midrange stuff is engaged. Hen it isn't engaged, it sounds like a neck through P/J bass.

It's from 1982, and arrived with a corner chunk missing (mentioned on listing) which I've repaired with a mix of nail varnish, superglue and elbow grease. Nearly invisible repair.

It had taken a shock in shipping and the neck had telltale lines down the black binding which have been repaired.

The bridge looks to be an aftermarket Gotoh high mass model and I had to sort a sheared screw under that, so it's been drilled and dowled - a more or less invisible repair as its under the bridge plate.

It had a pair of knackered old battery clips I've replaced as the old ones were mismatched.

Comes with the original Washburn hard case.

That's about it. Looks great, sounds great. Will listen to offers.

£15 to ship in UK, would rather it be collected.

Not after trades at all really, but it's me, so...go for it

That's an excellent repair Andy, well done!

It looks great, in a certain light you can make out the difference in colour. My main concern was making the finish secure - it certainly is now. Thanks though - I am happy with how it tuned out.

Will listen to offers on this.

Bump, trying to get 5 minutes to do a little YouTube video of this, it really is a bonkers 80's tone machine.

Think I'd swap for a gold Jack Casady bass, because I miss my old one.
