Am almost embarrassed to admit that after owning the bass for about 8 years, today I noticed that the volume control has some kind of built in button. When pressed in the tone is brighter / less full - had no idea it was there, any idea what its called or designed to do!

It's far more versatile on a Jazz than on a Precision. I took it out of my Precision as it just switches to a weedy pointless sound.

Ditto, first thing I did on a 2006 US precision I had a while back.
