TC Electronic BH550 with GK NEO112's via Speakon Splitter ?

Hi all, I believe this is my first post though ive been a stalker for a while.
I have a new TC BH550 head and wish to use it with my 2x (8ohm) GK NEO112's. However, the TC head and the GK cabs both only have 1 connector. Thus i cant use one lead per speaker, nor indeed feed one cab to the other. In a bid to not have to sell the GK Cabs and buy something else, i struck upon the idea of a splitter as per a box: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pulse-Neutrik-NL4-Speakon-Splitter/dp/B00NWFIMTG or a lead: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015EUTOMU/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00NWFIMTG&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=KJASXGV4BM5PJT0WJCDY. The box seems to be a better long term bet for gigging.

I know all the impedance sums add up etc so in my head it should work no problem. Can someone confirm my thinking please?! Or has anyone done anything similar with unexpected results?!
thanks in advance

Hi there Bassman985 (and welcome officially to the forum!)

The products you linked to will do the job, no worries, but it's an expensive way to solve the problem, as you will still need to purchase the Speakon-Speakon cables to go with them.

An alternative suggestion if you have the necessary tools would be to make a suitable cable yourself using the Neutrik plugs (they're about a fiver each, part no. NL4FC - beware cheap Chinese copies and the like) and some thick cable (use 2.5mm[sup]2[/sup] or 4mm[sup]2[/sup] flex). Wiring will be 1+ to 1+ and 1- to 1- on all three plugs. Or you could give forum user 'OBBM' a shout as he does custom cables and splitters like this and specify the length you need.

Hope that this helps!

Best regards,
Ian

Cheers Bottle. I should have mentioned that i already have enough speakon leads (i also have a bass terror where i can use one speakon cable per cab), but maybe i should consider making one/getting one made anyway. That'd be a nice bespoke solution specifically for use with the tc and i'd know the quality too! I'll look into that! It is nice to know that my theory isnt way off though and thats what matters! (along with no amp going up in smoke!) cheers
