hello

Just made a little vid from the 'shed' today - I hadn't played my fretless for a week and I got a little inspired by the new strings I put on it - and this is what came out - a 3-chord sequence going F-, G#- and B7 from a tune I wrote called Kitson - I've been working on my 4-finger grooves as well - let me know what you think.

Been trying to work out what you're playing with the sound off (I'm at work). When I get home I'll have a proper listen and report back. It looks very, very interesting though!

hey man...cool stuff!!!

Loving the fretless as usual mate, and you've got some cool things going on there...100mph all the man :) Liking the harmonies/chords around 3:20

I managed to get my Marleaux down to the guys at the Gallery, needless to say, it's playing and sounding absolutely amazing...i can't take my hands of it!!!!!!! Hooray for low set-ups on fretless!!!

Nice one mate,

Hi Mike

Liking the groove stuff about a minute in and the solo section for the next minute or so, once again making it look so easy - I think you could try playing some longer notes some times, give the bass a chance for the fretless sound to grow - I love playing long notes as it really gets the lovely fretless tone going...

Keep up the good work mate :)

Thanks guys - appreciate the criticisms and yes the drum track sounds a bit lame, though it did sound OK when I was jamming to it - next step is to record a new tune with some of this stuff - a video is always the 'lazy' option...i.e. it's far too quick and easy - recording takes a lot more time. Anyway you are all very kind, basically I find it interesting when I improvise that sometimes - like on this vid - the ideas just 'come out' so that while I am thinking through a line or chord change - the actual end result, i.e. the notes, just appears without too much thought... that's the goal anyway, to stop thinking and just play. Thanks for watching - I promise not to post any more vids for a while - just like getting some feedback on things I'm working on.

Cheers

Mike
