WITHDRAWN Squier JV 1st Series 57 Precision WITHDRAWN

Here is my excellent Squier 1st series (Big Fender Headstock Decal) Precision. It is one of the first ones produced and the date in the neck pocket is 13.5.82 and it is also marked Exp so it is the one you want. These were only produced from April to the end of June 1982 and then the large Squier decal was introduced.

The bass is in stunning two colour Sunburst on a very nicely figured two piece Ash body. It has a maple neck and fingerboard, reverse tuners and a single ply scratch plate. This bass is completely original. There is a little bit of scuffing on the back which is hardly noticeable and there is a small nick by the side dot marker at the 5th fret. This can't be felt when playing and has no effect on playability at all but it needs to be pointed out. It is after all a 34 year old instrument so a bit of wear is to be expected.

This is a joy to play, it is light at 8lbs, it is really well balanced and looks, sounds and plays exactly as a vintage Precision should. It is very well set up with a very nice low action. :gas:

I bought this from Andy Baxter last year for exactly the same price as it is listed. It comes in an as new Kinsman hard case.

I live near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire and I would recommend coming to have a go on this so that you can see for yourself just how good it is.

Thanks for looking.

Mike

Hi Mike - What a historical beauty, I though you'd hang on to it.

I was going to come up and see you in the next few weeks, I think I'll wait until this is sold - otherwise I'll be coming back from your place with my wallet a lot lighter .

I had a quick go on this when I sold Mike my SR500 in the spring. Usually I find P necks are too big for me, but this was really comfortable to play. It's a great bass. Good luck with the sale :)

Hi. Just to say that I'm going on holiday tomorrow for a week and will only have sporadic access to the net so if you are interested and I don't get back to you for a little while this is why.

Cheers

Mike

I have an identical one of these, which I bought new in Bath in 1982, I still have the inspection tags. I now pretty much only play 5 string basses, I sold 2 x Wal Mach 1's because they weren't getting used, but I'll never sell my '57 Fender by Squier Precision!

Whoever buys this will not only have a great investment, but also one of the lightest, sweetest P basses ever made.

Proof, if any were needed, that this IS a Fender! : -
