It's a passive P bass with a reverse pickup configuration and a big chunky neck. It was a bit of a state when I got it - dead, rusty strings, bridge saddles rusted together, frets and fretboard were covered in gunk and rust, etc. Few knocks and scraps on it which I have tried to photograph, but it is 32 years old. Spent some time cleaning it up, but the main issue is the neck. It looks to me like there is a bit of a ski jump on the last few frets where the body and neck meet. This means that playing from about 15th fret upwards is pretty much impossible due to fret buzz. Doing a bit of research, it looks like removing the last few frets, planing the board then reinstalling frets is the way to sort it. Well above my capabilities There is also a forward bow in the neck. I'd be tempted to say that heat treatment may be able to resolve this, but again it's something I'd rather not bugger up myself. The good news is that the truss rod works! I replaced a few rusted screws around the pickup assembly and replaced the bridge saddles. The P pickup sounds great, although looking on the rear control plate, the wire looks to have been spliced in a former life. Not had any issues with it though. I paid just over 100 for it, so looking to get this back. I'd highly recommend viewing first so you know exactly what you're getting - might be a good project for someone to try out repairs, or could be parted out for different bits...
