Hello everyone.
Just a quick hello and introduction.
I've tinkered with the bass for several years on and off (mostly off) and finally sat down 18 months ago and started to seriously attempt to actually play one. I'm nowhere near there yet but loving the experience. My aim is to develop a thumb/funk thing but I'm strictly baby steps at the moment.
I've got a varied taste in music and bass styles in particular, from thumb merchants to straight forward rockers. I'm a big Zappa fan but also love prog, really heavy stuff, blues, ska, punk....well just music really.

Amongst my very favourite bass players are Danny Thompson, Les Claypool, Geddy Lee, Roy Estrada, Scott Thunes, Geezer Butler, John Glasscock, Matt Freeman, Bruce Foxton, Paul McCartney and Lemmy. This list could go on and I'm sure nobody needs that!

I'm hoping to badger for tips and pick up some hints along the way. I hope to contribute too if I can in any way!

I've got a 2003 Warwick Corvette Standard and an Epiphone Viola. For amps, which I only need for practice at the moment I've got a 15w Ashdown combo and a PJB Bass Buddy and headphones to save Mrs R's nerves.

Look forward to joining in.

Cheers,

Glenn.
