Hi all,

Up for sale is my Mid 70's approx Fender Jazz, I purchased a good 3/4+ years ago from Gamlins in Cardiff, from my understanding they bought it over from the States, I believe from a NAMM show...they sold it to me as a mid 70's bass....it certainly looks to be a bitsa bass as described below. It is lovely though :)

I've been toying selling this one for a while, I don't really use it however it looks lovely! However having just bought a Pre CBS Jazz I can't justify keeping this one too so willing to move it on at the right price...

The pots date to '72, neck heel stamp is worn but spec's I believe tally up to a 75 neck and can see a 5 which would most likely be the 7th digit to give a '75 neck. It certainly looks to be a bitsa bass from what I can tell and I think this is what Gamlins were hinting at in so many words but sold it on the fact it wasn't much more than a new Jazz but with loads of Vintage mojo! Neck plate has no serial number and three screws are not countersunk, one is.....

Pickups appear to date to 1978 so I am told, so rundown of what I know below...

Pots: 1972
Pickups: 1978
Neck: 1975

Attached pictures below. Body has had an obvious refinish, however it all really looks the part :) Comes with chrome pickup covers and thumbrest.

Attached a few pictures, hopefully they help, I'm not an expert on old Fenders by any means!

Looking for £1050. Bass will come with a non Fender hard soft case. It has recently been setup/checked over by a well known local guitar tech...

Located near Yeovil in Somerset.

Cheers,
Nick....

Hi, please can you confirm nut width and weight? And do the pots crackle, or any other electronic issues?
Cheers.
Sorry for the delay!

Nut Width - 36mm or 1 7/16"

Weight - 8.6/8.7lb

Pots and electronics are absolutely crackle free and work fine :)

Cheers,
Nick

Wow, she's a beaut. Would go nice with my 77' Black with rosewood board....you considering trades?

did you manage to work out the year?
Thanks :) may be interested on trades, all depends on what it is...

Year wise I'm not sure what you mean, other than what I've said above! If there is anything I can help with let me know...

Sorry, missed this reply!

Yes, I would say so. The specs of the neck, including that its a pre 3 bolt, certainly ties it up to be 74/75. And according to the stamp, from what we make out its marked for '75 which would make the neck one of the last four bolts....

Dropping the price to £1395...
