alembic1989
I've got an Ampeg SVT 200t amp, owned it for years, and like the sound. It started giving me problems, so I had it repaired/ overall end by the fabulous guys at Surrey amp hospital. Unfortunately it didn't work correctly...took it back ( outside their guarantee ) , and they very kindly gave it a thorough check and found no fault. The amp plays fine for a few minutes, and then the sound fades away to nothing...then fades back again...this repeats itself. The guys at the amp hospital had it running without any problems running it through one of their cabs. I'm stumped. Is it possible that my cab ( Hartke XL 410) could be the problem? Any experts out there..please help, I don't want to spend any more money on this amp.
Lozz196
Did they have it running at band volumes without problems, or at tv/radio volumes? If the former it`s a bit odd as can`t see why your cab would affect it.
alembic1989
Not sure...but I'm having problems running it at low volumes...haven't tried turning it up loud, but I suspect it would be the same.

4stringslow
Like Lozz, I can't immediately think why the cab should be causing the problem, but with all these sorts of issues reproducing the fault is the first priority and the amp doctor is not going to get very far without this. Is it possible to take the amp and cab in for a checkup? Preferably with your bass and all cables as well so that you can demonstrate the problem to them. I know it's a pain, but I'm sure there's frustration on both sides - there's nothing more frustrating than a described fault that can't be reproduced on the test bench.
