SOLD: Don Mare Swing-O-Tones for Strat - rare high end boutique pickups! £135

These were installed to replace the stock pickups in a Fender Custom Shop Strat they sound wonderful, and I'm not just saying that...
I reverted the CS Strat back to it's original pickups before selling it recently.
I would certainly hang onto these but I don't intend on buying a new Strat in the near future so best move them on.

A new set of these would cost you £198 direct from Don's website, plus he has a waiting list.

However. it seems JUMP BLUES PLAYERS & JAZZ Cats seem to LOVE these so _ I've brought them back, By altering the magnet coil wire gauges, Unlike traditional pickups, The coils on the Swing0tones are fat and full to the brim with a thicker wire like they used in the 40's ! And the output is way up, however the DC ohms do read lower (in the 4's and 5's), but this has to do with fatter wire being used in tandem with traditional wire size.

The 40's jazzy-ier tone. also acts well whith the tone rolled back,
with these pickups. you still get Lots of Quack in 2 & 4. The sound is more compressed yet smooth, full and punchy with a very sweet, low end_ with clean jazzy highs.[/i]
