The hanger is only as good as the wall you attach it to.
I had a Hercules wall hanger come away from the wall despite using screws & plugs that should easily have held it. Put a big dent in my Precision & didn't do much for the Strat it landed on either.
I only use floor stands now.

I've got plasterboard walls - the answer in my house is to use no-nails to stick some wood to the wall, then mount on that. Don't know as I want to do that too much though. It could end up with wood blocks all over the place. It's floor-stands for me too.

I've got solid brick walls so shouldn't be an issue although prefer floor stand but not safe with the baby around.
