Ibanez Adam Nitti

The price alone prompted a search online. Never actually heard of the guy.

Visually, the design doesn't strike me as being that different from the models in the SR range, although it carries a high gloss finish. Hardware and electrics are just Hipshot and Barts.

Thing is, we live on a planet with over seven billion other people and somewhere there's someone who is thinking that the price is right for that bass. Ibanez may not even sell ten of these.

Perhaps it's more a case of the company telling the world they can up their game and shouting, 'Hey, look what we've built here.'

There are two variants of their Adam Nitti bass. There is an 'affordable' one and then the gold plated, you can't bend it, showcase model.

I am signed up for Adam's online lessons and they are superb. He is a great player and also a great teacher which isn't always the case with great teachers.

Adam came over to play the Manchester bass day some years back. he was a really nice guy to chat with and a monster player. Has a fairly active facebook profile. Coincidentally I was eyeing up the basic ANB306 earlier. Retails for around £2000. Adam says it's identical to his own instrument apart from being made by a machine instead of hand made.
