Used Ford Fiesta purple as a base coat and got some purple metal flake paint from Specialist Paints and attempted to paint the metal flake on. But it reacted with the base coat and bloomed. If I were to try again I'd get loose flake and spray a clear coat on and dust the metal flake onto the tacky clear coat. Once that was dry I'd try and build up layers of clear coat to smooth it all out. Someone did a stringray copy in that method I think. It's somewhere in the build thread.
