Welcome to the Basschat Noodle Bar™! [NOVEMBER]

The rules are simple:

Record yourself playing bass for up to 60 seconds. You can record whatever the heck you like: an original riff or lick; something from your band’s own repertoire; or a well-known piece you’re currently practicing. Doesn’t matter what. Just record something.

Make sure it’s bass only: no other instruments. FX and pedals are allowed, as are simple click tracks and metronomes.

Upload your recording to SoundCloud, YouTube or another music-sharing platform of your choice. Once you’re finished, post the link to your recording in this thread. Job done!
Or in short: PRESS RECORD > PLAY BASS > PRESS STOP!

The deadline for entries is midnight on Wednesday 30th November.

Well it's been a while, but I'm in... :)

An excerpt of something I've been recording this weekend, played on a Fender Precision:

Shock horror the noodle has drums in!!! Lol
Great tone if I may say so. I was listening too it and thinking p bass, please let that be a p bass.
And clicking back here you indeed state it is. Unmistakable a true classic tone.

And ive already heard the mix and really liked it!

Again as last month its cool to here a separate bass line for the noodle bar and an example of it in the mix.
Maybe just maybe we could get a few more cross entries from the composition challenge. I certainly enjoyed last months composition entry by moonbassalpha and his isolated line in the noodle bar.
The definition of noodle doesn't have to be an off the bat performance per say. Isolated bass is welcome from an composed piece.

Not sure this is the right place for this – if it’s decreed from on high that it should be elsewhere so be it – but I thought it was (tenuously) relevant here.

Last month fellow noodler, Twincam, suggested it might be interesting to see a video of me playing “Octonoodle”

Well I’ve finally taken my phone from my pocket so here’s a slightly extended version:

Obviously this is not this month’s entry – I’m still waiting on my muse for that one

No rush on that, especially as I'm currently set to win by default. Did I mention that the deadline is - ahem - 1st December? :D

Glad you liked the vid.

Sound wise it’s just my Samsung Galaxy 3 plonked directly in front of my Ashdown EVOIII head sitting on top of my Ashdown 2X10 Compact cab. :)

I have a noodle however its another rather simple/naive affair. Probably with terrible recording too lol. So I doubt I will be in line for a win.
Must get it recorded in the next few days.

Where are the other entries? Normally we have a few by now. Come on people.

I can't leave Skol languishing here alone any longer.

78 Precision with rounds into Audacity then compressed & normalised.

Might just play this to the rest of the band and see if it goes anywhere.

So what's the script?
you can use drum tracks and FX?
Fx yes!. Drum beats and certain click tracks to bend the rules no lol although on occasion I don't see why some rule bending shouldn't be allowed to let slide. Loopers are the devil here haha.

The original concept is to keep it as simple as possible. Which levels the field so to say and that anyone can join in without feeling They need a certain amount of gear.

Its a shame its not caught on more. I really wanted people to engage and because of the simplicity any one with a bass, amp, phone etc can join in no matter what there noodle ability. And it doesn't take much time up.
There's been some great noodles over the months.
