goingdownslow Posted November 15, 2016 Share Posted November 15, 2016 (edited) I was recently given a non working guitar combo, one of these http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/reuther-st-240-stereo-amp-german-made-955604578 Reuther ST240 Stereo Amplifier. What I have discovered is the tip is not making contact in any of the input sockets. I have removed one and opened it up and what appears to be the tip contact does not touch the tip on a standard jack plug. This is an oldish amp, where there any other type of plug available then? The tip contact is that tiny pip you can see in the first picture. I have replaced one of the inputjacks that was not pcb mounted with a standard socket and the amp performs ok. Replacing all the sockets is a no go. There definitely have been issues with plug / socket compatability across manufacturers. Sometimes it's been an imperial/metric tolerance issue.
