If new a Sire Marcus Miller, I have one - it's good.

Bugger, there was me thinking that I didn't need another bass and now I've seen that you can get these for just over £300 from Thomann.

Another vote for the Sire V7 Miller. I have the Natural Ash model. Just be aware that its active, because some prefer passive

Unless they've changed the electronics since mine was made, you can play them in passive mode too.

+1 for the Sire V7!

Not for sub-£500 this side of the pond

Also, being an L2500 player myself I wouldn't get one of these if it was a traditional jazz sound I was after :)

Agreed, a US Jazz minimum, I'm thinking $1,200.00.

What about a Squire. A MIJ Squire would be nice and shouldn't be any more than $500.00

I have a couple of Fender Ps and a Jazz, my G&L and many others.

I can't tell or hear a difference in any of them except for my collection of semi hollows.

My German made Hofner Club bass definitely has a sound of it's own.
