Budget videos

Made this little video using nothing but 4 really cheap (£25 each) fake go pro cameras at soundcheck at a wedding on 17th Dec. Far from perfect but we basically just played a medley through 3 times whilst guests were outside having drinks and photos done in a separate building. Between takes we moved the cameras to new spots or on guitars. Audio was recorded from a single take on the mixer (behringer XR18) and we edited it together using free video software (lightworks). Anyone else got any super low budget videos out there?

Yep, gets the job done and shows people not only what you are like but also that you are a real band with the equipment required to inspire confidence in booking you. It also shows roughly what area you will require etc.

I'd suggest two versions of it, one a little bit shorter for things where it just gets clicked on then this version on your web page or agency stuff once they've liked you enough to look a bit deeper, on the longer version a quick few words confirming that you have insurance and PAT testing certificates you can email direct to the venue before hand etc and any requirements you have like stage area, I've stolen that from someone else here from their show reel but it does look professional, also if the person booking it was specifically told that it would be required it might just jog their memory when they see your video and book you even if the other bands have insurance etc but either didn't mention it or buried it in the small print on their website.

It's loads better than our band's promo already though so well done :)

Nice. 60seconds of each song is probably long enough, put up as separate short videos. A long medley risks people clicking off the video if they don't like the first tune. People are quite fickle. You can split it easily if tou wanted to do that.

You could also have added some dynamic video (someone moving around using a smartphone) as it feels a bit static using fixed cameras even tough you have lots of angles. (but that's just me being overly critical ;) )

Good work.

Had a quick look at this and did a quick double take when I saw Chris on drums. He's been my regular dep over the last year or so. Great bloke n great drummer! Ooh and nice vid!

Yeah he's a class player and a great guy. I've done a couple of projects with him and he is really easy to play with.

I agree with this - you need another cut that gets straight into it, and says everything that needs to be said within about 10 seconds.
