Tuner / Power Supply In One?

I've noticed these a few time while looking through sales etc and was wondering if anyone has taken the plunge and tried one?

I'm generally of the opinion that anything trying to do too many things at once is gonna fall short somewhere but there are of course some examples of pedals that do a couple of things really well.

This seems like a really simple way of saving space on my nano+ pedal board... However I've just bought a Korg Pitchblack so it seems a bit daft to be looking at replacing it already!

There seems to be a bunch of different ones of each design, from different companies (they look similar apart from the paint job so presumably from the same place initially?

I ordered the JOYO. It's a great idea, the pedal seems well made, the tuner is very good. It was also able to easily power my other pedals. However, it created a horrible buzz and hum. I assume it was a ground loop or similar emanating from the 9v2A power supply (although, because I didn't want to invalidate any guarantee, I didn't try another supply plug). Unfortunately I sent it back.

It's a good concept, just didn't work out for me this time.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was afraid of. Definitely a very cool idea but if it's too noisy it's not much use!

Strikes me as being a bit of over engineering for the sake of it.

For many years (until I got a Pedaltrain and stuck a Fuel Tank on it a year or so ago) I got on perfectly well using either a Boss TU or Polytune pedal and a daisy chain cable from the 9v out. Sure, won't easily power heavy draw and 18v pedals but if you have a few of those on the board then you probably want to be looking a a better power supply than those ones...

I'd never even considered that... no idea why... I think I just presumed the tuner would power one other pedal only
