Jack extender

Does anyone know of an extender for a quarter inch jack? I picked up one of those little Samson wireless units and the transmitter doesn't fit in the recessed socket of my Wal. It's just for messing about the house (trying to be tidy!) so no big deal. The only thing I could see was a mono to stereo adapter but dunno if that would work?

Hi Stevie, I left you a comment on the FB Wal group. As with others I'd recommend asking OBBM to make up an extension lead, 1/4" jack on one end, 1/4" inline jack socket on the other. His website is http://www.rock-wire.uk.com

My concern with an extender socket is you're putting unusual leverage on the bass' jack socket. Remember that a Wal uses a mechanical make/break switch in the Switchcraft jack socket rather than the usual active circuit power arrangement... shorting across the ring and sleeve of a TRS stereo jack socket. I'd be wary of adding consistent lateral mechanical strain on the socket just in case. With an extension cable from OBBM you can just attach the wireless transmitter to your strap (or slip it in your pocket).
