This is just fantastic.. He's a real musical hero of mine. The layers of instruments are great on this very funky record. He's such a fantastic Pianist, and one of the all time greats of music.

and a master of the funk.

And this one is a bit of music history, helping to bring hip hop into the mainstream

I must admit, the OP title did make me chuckle.
It read like some kind of masterbation technique.

What's not to like about Mr Hancock?

I bought Rockit on12" vinyl when it first came out and promptly never heard of him again until a few years ago. I didn't appreciate exactly who we was.

Think it's in the garage somewhere. It's not particularly funky but has a great groove and is probably his most famous number.

Never watched this before, although I know the track. The video must have take a serious amount of work at the time as robotics weren't as advanced at the time as they would be today.

I really hated Rock It. I never gave him any chance as I never knew anything about him. However, I was Youtube browsing a few weeks ago, and came across a concert with Tal Wilkenfield on bass. I realised there was a lot more to him than Rock It. I need to look up more stuff by him

I think Chameleon, Watermelon Man and Maiden Voyage are his most known numbers. But, who knows...A lot of folks ain't heard of him at all.

Quite often his fantastic tasteful, Acoustic Jazz Piano playing is over looked by his Synth offerings.

Huge fan of HH - this is one of my favourites. Funnily enough I have previously posted this in funk thread and was told that it is not funk! Just goes to show how different perceptions are:
