Just caught your tag line there five-string ? how many bass players are there in the Royal Marines :D - I thought it was all about wading through swamps with a riffle above ya head - I've missed a career opportunity there :(

Hi Deepbass 5

Numbers in training vary depending on the personnel required in the orchestras / bands. Whilst music is the main focus, they are all trained for military deployment.

If you have time, do have a look at this: http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/brochures/royal-marines-band-service

Positive so far, which is great. I'll start thinking some more about the venue and date.

My initial thought is early Autumn, but it's just a thought at the moment.

In that case please take into consideration that the South East Bass Bash is usually held in late September.

It would probably help to liaise with Silverfoxnik over this. Nik is one of the key people in the South East Bassbash, he also put together a South Coast Bassbash a couple of years ago, and of course he's pretty local to you.

+1 for Nik's involvement here. He pulled off an awesome bass bash in my neck of the woods (the first one I attended, oddly enough) and they're a real treat for me.

HI All,

Thanks for your interest.

I put things on the back burner for a while since finding out about the potential clash with the SE bass bash in the Autumn.

I'm now starting to look for suitable and cost effective venues for later in the year - probably October or November.

It seems like there is enough interest, so I'll get back on this over the summer.

If anyone would like to get involved with the organisation too, please feel free to PM me.

Cheers

Greg
