An absolutely incredible drummer, sad to see another great (in some people's worlds) go.

Brilliant "less is more" drummer with dynamics and swing. He'll be missed. Great work with Jah Wobble too.

[url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=390Nz5Gm8Hw"]Great footage of Can on OGWT[/url] from 1975, Irwin Schmidt committing all sorts of violence on his keboards while wearing a waistcoat made of ring pulls, the rest of the band looking slightly puzzled, while Jaki L. just keeps on drumming.

Sadly, Schmidt broke his leg soon after this, resulting in their UK tour being cancelled. I had a ticket to see them in Manchester.

Very sad news. Great drummer, having a bit of a krautrock binge lately. Mushroom is my fave CAN track, especially for the drumming!
