Hi All,

As per the title, I have my Fender Jazz Standard, made in Mexico in 2000 up for sale. I picked this up whilst living in the US and it had been my main bass until I discovered the joys of medium-scale instruments... and it has been in storage ever since!

It has been lightly gigged - maybe 50 or so performances on the amateur circuit. It has never let me down and has the ability to conjure up a variety of tones from smooth sliding sounds to the growly end of the spectrum. It's been used on a few recordings too, which you can find here if you want to listen to it in action:

There are a couple of nicks to mention, though nothing serious; one small mark on the rear of the headstock, another on the rear end which was the result of an angry drummer kicking his ride over and into me! There is also a small part of the control plate that has worn away/discoloured. (see pictures)

I have upgraded the pickguard from the rather boring and standard white, to a lovely grey tortoiseshell. Alas, the original is long since gone.

The Midnight Blue colour is definitely one of Fender's more interesting tones and looks more purple to my eyes, especially under the stage lights. It's had many compliments over the years!

There don't seem to be many on eBay, but the ones I've seen are going for upwards of £400 in comparison to around £600 new, so I'll pop that on as the price. The only thing(s) I'm interested in trading for would be a good medium-scale bass which I'm prepared to add cash too if necessary. Fender Aerodyne AJB-M or the medium-scale jazzers that pop up every now and again would be of interest.

I also have a Gator case which I'm willing to negotiate on as part of the deal.

Collection from Chorley/Lancashire/Manchester area preferred, but I will post if you arrange a trusted courier service.

Thanks for looking!
