binky_bass Posted February 17, 2017 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Hi, I recently picked up a great Tokai Thunderbird in ivory, when I tested it before purchase everything was fine, loud output, no audible issues of any kind. A week later... I plugged it into an ancient Trace Elliot 1115 combo and the output was incredibly low, the amp was almost all the way up and you could barely here the bass, tried a different bass in the amp and it was fine. I picked up an Ashdown 2x10 combo yesterday and again plugged in the Tokai, same issue, hardly any volume at all, again tried a different bass and all is good. So it must be the Tokai itself? It has had no knocks or bumps while in my possession, it isn't active so there is no dead battery situation, I've had the cavity cover off and everything appears good, no crackling or popping etc. Anyone have any thoughts as to the issue??
