I had the camera out for some other stuff for sale so took some shots of my beautiful Yamaha SB-35. Bucket loads of mojo! And, boy, does it sing!!

Neck pup a bit muddy? There is a topic on here somewhere about rewiring it from serial to parallel. Worth doing!
I've always played it with both pups on. I haven't played it in a while actually & think it might be time to give it a bash to refresh my memory.

A black Fender MIM The Urge is on the way to me...flats are waiting for him...and I am wondering about putting a P pick up between the 2 J...like the MIA Urge.
Asking myself if the classic position for P pup would it be possible....any advice ?

Unfortunately I can't help you with your question but please post pics of your Fender Urge when it arrives :)

Yes indeed. I'd love to have a try of a couple of Medium Scale Fenders :)

You should be able to add a P in same position as the USA Urge but that's much closer to the bridge than on a standard P.

Anyone tried a 5 string 32 bass? What's it like?
As a wee man and a 5 string man I've found medium is defo the best overall fit for me - currently have a custom Maruszczyk Elwood Absolution 5A 32" which is now my go to fiver, along with a Warwick Rockbass Corvette Basic 5 which is up for sale in the classifieds if anyone fancies a medium-sized dalliance with a 5th string...

That looks lovely, I'm tempted to order a 32" scale Maruszczyk Elwood in the future.

Me too haha! That's is one stunning J bass, lovely :)

I want to see what my 32 scale Mensinger is like before I take the plunge on this one though.

Might have to sell the Harris to afford it...

here it is...Biggie !!

Super light , really nice neck.

Pups will go soon , thinking at Haeussel to replace them.

It needs some neck adjustement from my luthier but overall very good condition.

Found a nice JB sound turning the lows all the way up on the preamp...Highs used like a tone control but generally a bit harsh.

This one is definetly goin to be passive...and maybe I will add a P pup in the middle.

Nice bass, congratulations.

I actually prefer the look of it without the P pickup in the middle, I have no idea how these are wired but it might sound great in series.

I wonder if we could get a Basschatter group discount if we all order 32" Maruszczyks!
Interesting idea, I guess it would only really work if there was a limited run 'Basschat' spec 32" scale bass?

I have just got this 32" scale Jake & it is fantastic! Well balanced, comfortable. I have put tapewounds on & it sounds beautiful!
Never heard of Tapewounds before, how are they?
