NBD: Ibanez SRF705 Fretless

So after putting my wanted advert here a few months ago I got contacted by someone with one, but with no posts, so decided to wait until we could meet up in person, so the London Bass Show proved a good opportunity for a London based deal (not a place i have to go often).
Met up, swapped money for bass, all good and pretty happy.

Lovely thing, spent some quality time yesterday going through iTunes and digging out fretless tunes.

Sound is great, front volume, back volume, piezo volume, bass treble and piezeo tone, unusual combination for an ibanez, and I think that the treble is a bit of the wrong frequency, makes the sound too brittle (ibanez normally have a middle). Other than that, can't fault it, and this is set up really well and flat.

I think they are great for the money. The piezo sound really nice. Ibanez have just brought out an acoustic bass with the same piezos. SRH500. Also great!

Yeah, you're not wrong about the treble.


I love my SRF700, But I think the preamp lets it down quite a lot...

Lovely bass. I was GASing hard for one until I got my hand one a four string version in Wunjo and realised a fretless instrument far exceeds my current skill level
