Hi everyone. I've been playing acoustic and electric guitars for 45 years now and recently formed a duo with a very fine lady singer/songwriter half my age. At first, I accompanied her acoustic guitar with my electric but after a few rehearsals I realised that what we needed was a fretless bass. I've always fancied one so I took the plunge and bought a pre-owned Ibanez SRF700. I have to say I absolutely love it! We gigged recently which was a bit nerve wracking to say the least for a relative beginner but I have to say that I enjoyed it far more than playing the same old stuff with my regular band. I've been converted to the dark side finally!

Hi there and welcome from a fellow sexagenarian. Grew up in Deal and went to school in Broadstairs.

Don't listen to any of the above! :) Nothing wrong with having guitars: you'll find plenty of folks around here who find time to do both.

Hi to you too. Andrew is a fundementalist!! (and a really good player), i haven't given up playing guitar with my band but as i said before, discovering the fretless bass and exploring the possibilities is very exciting and I'm loving it. Only trouble is, I'm developing GAS for basses and researching amps, here we go again 😏.
