I'm currently using Innovation Silver Slaps on one bass, and quite pleased with them. And I've got Spirocore Weichs on another set. artisan Posted March 23, 2017 Share Posted March 23, 2017 (edited) My Duke came with gut a likes from new. They aren't bad but the E was totally useless,floppy with very little tone. I sold them pretty quickly. I've tried loads of strings but always came back to golden slaps. If you want some synthetic guts the Superior Bassworks deluxe wackers are a much better bet. AndyBass Posted March 27, 2017 Share Posted March 27, 2017 I'm afraid I'm not near Cardiff, but I'd say good things about Gutalikes. I had the wrapped E and, for me, they have a really nice tension and feel. I've used them on my main gigging bass for 3 years or so now (same set).
