NAD Ampeg BA110 Combo

Found it last week in the second hand listings. Its the old version, not the v2 selling now in stores.

The guy gave it away as a small practice amp thinking it was the usual useless crap, so I took it for 30 euros.

I've been triggering people here for a while with my amp/cam woes, but I had to take it to the next level and see for myself.

I play in a goth/hard rock trio (yes, still!). Drummer is moderately loud, nothing out of control. Guitarrist is verdy decent with his volume too (he has a 100W valve head but it's never past 2/10 - complete wwaste if you ask me, he's nowhere near enjoying the artifacts of the valves).

I put this thing on the side, turned it up to 5/10 and had to turn it down because it was too loud! Finished practice at 4/10 still with the feeling I should have turned it down further.

Not only that but the sound was much better than anything I played before. I used lots of different 4x10s live and owned an ashdown 2x10 and a random 2x12. Especially with these last two I had always the problem of the E string being too loud and out of control somehow. I twiddled with the PU height with no success, but this seemed to do it.

Insanely happy with this thing!

I'm with you,
I've got one, bought it off here from a guy two roads away from me can you beleive!. and its good and like you said goes pretty loud. Only thing I did was buy a fivers worth of coned foam sheeting which I stuck inside...made a difference. It's certainly got that gnarly Ampeg tone.

I just bought one (BA110V2). Nothing beats it. Set for all bass and it's Motown. Add mids/treble and it's rock. It's only for home practice, but I'm curious to see how it sounds with a band. Should be enough for a house party. Great tone.
