Hi Guys
Im getting no where online myself so I thought I'd ask you guys if you have any ideas.
I use an 18" floor fan while on stage to keep me cool (I jump around quiet a lot) like this

The box it came in (Just cardboard) has nearly completely had it (Box dims 21" x 21" x 9") so I'd like to get a padded case for it so it wont get ruined but I cant find one suitable anywhere online.
(And at a good price, the fan itself was only £30)
Ive had a little look at repurposing a kick drum or even a mixer case but I cant find any in the kind of size I want (Kick drum cases arnt really going to work though as the fan isnt round with its leg).

Any thoughts anyone? As much thinking outside the box ideas also welcome.
Thanks

You could try the Dimpa bag from Ikea, and line it internally with cardboard or bubble wrap or something similar?

People use these for Brompton folding bikes would you believe?

£2.95 Size (slightly bigger than you need but not by much) 25 ½x8 ¾x25 ½ "

Cheers, Pete.

What about something like a drum case? A quick Google search using "18 inch drum case" brings up loads of options from cheap and cheerful soft cases to more expensive heavier duty options.

The only potential problem that I can foresee would be the stand that keeps the fan upright. If it can easily be removed I can't see it being an issue.

Cheers for your input but as I said in my initial post a round drum case isnt going to work I'm afraid.

i know that you were looking for some kind of padded bag/ case but some of the hard bass drum cases might work as they usually aren't completely round, you might need to go up a size or two and then add some internal padding,

they come up used on ebay fairly regularly though especially if they're local collection only.

this kind of thing - http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/yamaha-marching-bass-drum-case/marching-drum-cases

or something like this - http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/nomad-multifit-fiber-bass-drum-case

Hi Matt P
Great ideas (As used by my drummers) but just too expensive for my budget (And what the fan originally cost me) I'm afraid
Cheers though

it's worth looking regularly on ebay though, i've picked up drum hardcases very cheaply over the years, certainly for less than the cost of your fan (the case will hold it's value very well too if you find you don't need it at some point)

another option is a suitcase, somewhere like tk maxx might have something suitable (you would probably get a bit of extra space for other stuff as well)

What about a large picnic cooler bag? They come in all shapes and sizes, perhaps it will fit in something like this?
