Hi all,

I'm selling my Bassix Hi-Tech RC EUB dating from 2002-2004, I need to raise some money for my wedding so please no trade offers. This bass is hand made and hand finished by Alan Hatswell at Bassix. He has been retired for a while so it's probably quite a rare instrument too.

More information can be found about Alan Hatswell's Bassix instruments on his Facebook page:

I bought this second hand two years ago and have had a crack in the fibreglass side moulding professionally repaired. The original end pin was slightly bent when I bought the bass so I replaced it, and can also include the original as I still have it. This bass has been well looked after with a few dents and knocks but nothing serious.

The bass has a 42 inch scale and is strung with a new set of D'Addario Helicore Hybrids. It has a much more natural double bass-like tone than any other EUB you'll find for the same asking price sounding good played pizzicato and bowed.

The bass can be quickly and easily dismantled and reassembled and packs down to just slightly longer than the size of a bass guitar.

Comes with a thin soft case and the stand pictured in the photos.

There is a slight issue with the onboard EQ that if you slide the bass on the instrument up to full you get some distortion on the D string when playing hard but I've also just got round this by keeping the bass EQ lower on the instrument and boosting the volume and bass on my amp.

Due to the somewhat fragile nature of the instrument's side moulding and the fact that the soft case for this ain't all that great, I would prefer not to have to courier this so collection from Brighton, East Sussex for this. Come and try it out and grab yourself a bargain.

I've edited the listing and the photos have now been sorted out so they're no longer displaying sideways. Bumping for a quick sale and the bass is also listed elsewhere so may not be around too long.

Lovely instrument at a good price!

Just to add some additional information on the Bassix:

The bass weighs 6.7kg. When dismantled the bass measures about 49.5 inches in length from top of the headstock to the bottom of the bridge.

The best sounding EUB you'll find for £500.

Alan Hatswell made great instruments.
I've had 2 Bassix EUBs, the last one Alan made for me was an ingenious design, in that the half body design, was also the case which held the neck, bridge, strings, etc for transport.
More importantly both sounded great too.
I don't play bass anymore so they had to go.
GLWTS 500 is a very good price for a lot of instrument. 🙂
