A dab of clear nail varnish on the thread would stop it working loose if it IS the correct size. Use sparingly if you ever want to remove it again, and give it a day or two to cure - a little goes a long way when it's set. (Yep, good job my drop tuner is in tune, 'cos it's no longer a finger adjustment! :D)

Hahaha that last pic is amazing.

I've attached pics but it's difficult to see what's going on, I've tried to show the play in the pics though. I've taken it all apart in the past to make sure it's being tightened from both sides but that didn't make too much difference either...

So you mean the Pot is actual coming loose where it it tightened up to the control plate?
It looks like the nut is cross threaded to me and the pot is sitting at an angle.
A new nut might cure it. With the nail varnish trick already mentioned.
