EBS in for repair

Nearly a year ago, my EBS HD350 was giving me grief, there was an intermittent problem with it making it cut out at gigs; not a great position to be in with a run of weddings and parties coming up so I bought a new head (GK MB500) with the intention of getting the EBS repaired at some point.

About 11 months later, I've got a little cash put aside, so finally get the opportunity to get it fixed. When the bulb went on my old Fafner head, I called Bernie Goodfellow at GB Guitars in Brighton as he was the UK distributor for EBS back then. He suggested instead of replacing the bulb, he fit an LED cluster, which he did, very well.

So Bernie seemed like an obvious port of call this time, he no longer distributes EBS but knows the range very well, I dropped the amp off with him this morning and he seemed confident he could sort it. Can't wait to get it back now, the GK is a brilliant little amp, but there's something really special about the EBS.

Bernie was a lovely fellow too, couldn't have been more accomodating.

Got it back today, Bernie couldn't get it to display the same fault - but he's stripped it down, cleaned everything up and swapped over some internal wires.

Hopefully that will sort it out, he reckoned maybe the fan wasn't working correctly as it was gubbed up with dirt, so the thermal protection circuit was kicking in.

Got a gig tomorrow night, so will use it then.

Bernie was once again a lovely chap, thoroughly reccomended.
