Anyone come across these oil can basses before?

Just come across these this morning on t'internet. Just wondered if anyone had had a chance to play one in person (or owns one!?). I'm extremely curious - would be a great backup bass that makes a bit of a statement on stage! Saw these at a guitar show recently. Had a quick go on one and they were actually okay,
although rather strange to hold.
( Maybe I'm not the best judge though as I do like Danelectros and other oddball stuff!)

I had an oil can guitar a few years ago, bought on a whim. Mine was made from a can of Unipart brake cleaning fluid. It was kind of entertaining, but it was about the most uncomfortable thing imaginable due to the shape and size of the can. They could be a fun wall-hanger perhaps, but to actually play one seems like a bit of an affectation unless you have a genuine need to cobble together an instrument from scrap materials.
