Running a 12v pedal off an 18v supply - voltage reducer cable?

Is there a cable which would allow me to run a 12v pedal off an 18v supply?

Don't know of any 18v to 12v adapter, but if you have an unissolated 9v available gigrig do a 9v to 12v adapter.

Nope. You can supply a device with excess current but NOT excess voltage.

You could make one easily enough using an LM7812 voltage regulator - they can be had for pence.

If its one of my pedals then 18V will blow it up, think that would be the case with most others.

A voltage regulator circuit or DC-DC converter is the only way

Hmm...with my soldering non-skils it would be anything but easy
