Pedal rehousing ideas and suggestions wanted

Morning all,

This could probably go in accessories and misc, but it'll be going on my board so I've put it in effects.

A while back OBBM made me up a great cable to allow the use of wired IEMs and at the time, I tried a behringer Headphone amp as a cheap experiment. Either way the experiment failed after the amp blew. The cable was put back in the drawer until I discovered it again recently and set about trying it again.

After reading a few reviews, I've gone and ordered one of these...

First off, the belt clip needs to be removed for it to sit nicely on my board. Then I started thinking about power. It runs on a 9v battery and the whole thing needs to be taken apart to change it. Not very convenient, especially when the buggar is Velcro'd in place. To resolve this I've ordered a diago battery adapter thing, and though of drilling a whole in the side and thus making it PSU friendly. That set off another thought. If there's no battery inside it, I could maybe reduce the size of it. Then I found this...

With the battery out of the way, it would allow for a slightly smaller enclosure, but what? At first I started thinking just a smaller metal enclosure, but felt inspired by my super Fuzz boy...

And thought, why does it have to look like a pedal/standard enclosure.

So. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Cheers,

James

An old tobacco or sweetie tin ?

I think I'd be after something metal - it's going to be underfoot even of you're not treading on it.

That said, the Super Fuzz Boy is very very cool.

So far my ideas are either an N64 rumble pack (though it's not smaller), or possibly building a small lego enclosure for it.

I like the Lego idea - pretty robust too.

And I certainly wouldn't want to step on it barefoot.

:)

Talking of things not to tread on with bare feet, how about stickle bricks for the enclosure ?

it's almost doable to put it in the bass's control cavity..........

It is and not a bad shout. If it wasn't for having a pretty specific plan for this, I would probably look into going down that route.
