Does anybody know any pop punk/rock albums and songs with good bass lines?

I am just now really switching from guitar to bass because I just simply like bass better. It's easy to find songs with heavy guitar, but I find it hard to find songs with heavy bass lines. I'm aware of Green Day and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, but that's really all I've been able to find. Right now, I'm just looking for song suggestions or you can even just name your favorite bassist. I appreciate all suggestions.

Thank you!

if you're after songs where you can hear the bass line so you can figure it out, try raising the song a whole octave with audacity or something similar makes the bass stand out, Blink 182 stuff is not very challenging, the Ramones even less so, but great fun, Hey Ho Let's Go

In roughly chronological order, I've loved the heavy bass on:

The first Psychedelic Furs album
Entertainment by Gang of Four
Fast Cars by The Buzzcocks
Real Life by Magazine
Death Disco by Public Image Ltd
Asbestos Lead Asbestos by World Domination Enterprises
Texas by Big Black
Love like blood by Killing Joke
Too much Kissing by The Senseless Things
Pod by The Breeders

...plus all the previous suggestions, great shouts all!

pretty much everything The Stranglers did.

My very thoughts above ^^^^^. A lot of sex pistols stuff is so loose you can build a good bassline through it and make it sound amazing.

Babylon's Burning and other songs by The Ruts. The Rezillos also had a hard working bass player
[/quote]Babylons Burning? that's tough, how he plays it with all down strokes is beyond me, I have to do up and down, doesn't sound the same though

'Add It Up' or 'Never Tell' by Violent Femmes.
Lots of Fugazi lines are interesting
Dead Kennedys Holiday in Cambodia / TDTF / California Uber Alles
Minor Threat by Minor Threat
First Culture Shock album (great though not particularly heavy)
'Classic' era Motorhead
'Vengeance' by New Model Army
... ?

+1 for Fugazi, album I would start with is The Argument. Not quite pop punk but for heavy bass in a similar genre Rage Against the Machine have great bass lines. And further afield you have Primus which are a band I think you will dig if your starting point is RHCP etc, I think the easiest album to get into is probably Antipop. Then you can dig deeper...
