My band did a little live internet-TV thing a few weeks back for a company called Plasma Music Television, who are based in Hemel Hempstead; while the live steam was a bit bass-heavy (nothing wrong with that, eh?), Plasma have mixed one of our songs and put it up on You Tube.

We still haven't quite worked out what their business model actually is; they have a ton of cameras, sound gear etc. We think they're looking at selling their recording/editing service back to bands, but there was no hard sell, it was just turn up, set up, run a couple of songs, find a pub, return to the studio, record, interview, load out and home.

They are looking for bands who do original material to go in, so if you have a free Saturday, hit 'em up. Later in the year, they're also looking to do a live telecast in the 'Later...' style, with several bands. Tell them Paul from Who Killed Nancy Johnson? referred you.

That's a pretty cool vid, looks very professional too.
How much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers, I'll mention this to my band, we've been on about doing a video type thing for ages.

Nothing. We just turned up and played.

They just posted up another one from the session we did with them. This is the lead track from the EP we recorded at the start of the year. It's up on Spotify as well.

Hey this looks like an amazing resource, particularly if they are not charging bands, thanks for sharing! Also really like the idea of a grass-roots "Later..."

Will they let you have the video recordings for your own use / editing e.g. for use on your band website or is this "their property" and only for use on their YouTube page and you just have to link to their YouTube upload?

Btw - really liked your band, too! Did you guys do both recordings in "one take"?

Seems like it's worth a go! Might drop them a line to see if they are interested in all genres, get some death metal on their show!

They've said we're free to share the recordings with whoever we wish, providing we don't edit out the Plasma TV logos/intro etc., which we'd have no intention of doing even if we could.

On the music front, both are 100% one take, but Fear has some weirdness going on at the 50 second mark on the video as there's an extra bar there (it may be that we simply cocked up on the day). Thanks for the nice remark!

If you like the band, try these:
