SOLD

The pedal I vowed I would never sell. And only for sale as this week I received my new Knightfall 66 (basically a double Knightfall pedal) from Tom at COG !

IMO, the Knightfall overdrive engine produces the most pleasing OD on bass guitar of any I have ever heard. Absolutely wonderful. The "Bass" mini switch gives you two options for pre-overdrive bass frequency levels.

Here is a demo video of this actual pedal by me......

At £64 posted to you in mainland UK, it would be rude not to !

Hmmm, does it do low gain grit like a blueberry or solid gold beta?

:)

With a pretty standard output passive P or J pickup it will easily do low gain. I can't remember the blueberry in detail but my memory of the SG Beta is that it is quite a squashy power tube-like OD and the KNightfall is not like that (which is why I like it). The Knightfall keeps its attack punchy and quick, whereas valve-like OD's lose the punchiness and speed of attack the more you OD them (to my ears). So, yes, will do similar OD levels but a very different quality of OD.

Brilliant! Thanks hamfist!
I'd want to use it with a P bass,so sounds ideal :)
I'd imagine its the predecessor to the Mini 66? I'll have to check the finances, but I bet this will go soon :)

Its pretty much a mini 66 without the clean blend knob, but with a tone potentiometer instead of a 3 position cut switch.

I compared this KNightfall directly to my new KNightfall 66 pedal with the clean on the 66 completely off. They sounded identical.

I like your demo on this! so it can do the fairly low gain well! Being a distortion I assumed it would be very high gain, whereas I'm looking for a low gain tone enhancer/boost(I suppose that's the Darklighter) I believe there was a bass version which one is this? And the in/out is that really just gain and vol?
I do like the idea of the clean blend on the Mini 66 though,so not sure! :)

Yes, the IN is simply "gain" and the OUT is simply "volume". COG only make Bass versions as far as I know and this definitely is for bass. I think of this as a low to medium gain pedal. I feel the "distortion" tag is rather misleading. I use a Muff pedal for high gain.

The clean blend of the mini 66 is useful, for sure, and will give you a different sound but is, of course, more expensive, Originally I used this with a clean blend pedal and then the blender pedal broke so I used and gigged this for a few months without a clean blend and came to really love the unblended tone too.
To have the option of clean blend is nice but I guess that option is not on the table for this low price.
