P-Bass pickup screws and general fasteners question

Hi Folks, I recently put a replacement pickup in my P-bass and the pickup screws from the original were too short. I purchased some new longer screws from Axes R Us and the screws were of terrible quality..very soft and the screw head damaged immediately. I would like to purchase high quality screws. Can anybody help with hardware /fastenings supplier who could supply these and any other screws in the future? Thanks Keith

They don't seem to list what I want. Can anyone help with high quality pickup screws that aren't made of solder soft poor quality steel?

For what it's worth, my local PMT and even independent music shops both have "spares drawers" just boxes and drawers of odds and sods, commonly found in the shops that have "repair" or "set-up" departments

A few times I've taken what I want there and had a finger through and found what I needed,

They normally let things like screws and springs go for pennies, 20p here 50p there

worth an ask if your passing......

I have to fix tons of burred screws for people and 9 times out of 10 its there own fault the screw gets chewed up as the newer screws are often thicker than the old ones and people just try to ram them in the hole then chew the head and blame the screws for being poor quality lol
