I once spent months learning a set of tunes which included Scarified and Jack hammer for Paul Gilbert.I tried to explain to the festival organiser that this was beyond my pay grade but he seemed to think that I'd be able to cope with the musical onslaught.

After the initial learning process and a change of several pairs of under pants, the dreaded day arrived, When PG got to the gig he pulled out a set list that looked a bit Saturday night pub band.( I can only assume he thought that he would be working with a local UK rhythm section myself and Pete Riley, and that it might be best to dumb down the gig.
I was a little dissapointed having spent 4 months learning his tunes and we ( as a rhythm section) kind of coerced him into playing the more difficult pieces) I'm glad we did !! not sure if he felt the same though ,but one can dream right ?

(The bass is quite low in the mix but the drums and guitar are quite frankly staggering)

I'll be checking this out later! - Strangely your link comes up with an empty playlist, but I went to your profile first and clicked on the playlist with the songs listed instead here:

Just looking at Paul's hands makes my ears melt. I can't imagine how scary learning parts for his tunes were.
