Change in fingertip feeling effecting playing

Part of the side effects of my chemotherapy is loss of normal feeling in the tips of my fingers , it's not extreme or painful but it means he subconscious way of naturally playing bass (and guitar) is compromised.

I did read once on here About people wearing special gloves for a condition (think it was to do with sweat) so I'm sure that had similar effects . Or has anyone else struggled with this ?

As usual any thoughts or experiences would be interesting and useful

The loss of normal feeling could also be described as an increase in feeling or over sensitivity.

I've no personal experience with this, but it does occur to me that changing string types (rounds to flats to tapes, or whatever) would change the feel of the strings so it might compensate a bit. Obviously it might not work well for your public playing.

My mom suffered this when she was having chemo about 5 years ago. It's neuropathy, It didn't last long after her treatment was finished. It gradually disappeared after 3 months or so. It used to really annoy her though, she loves reading and could feel the pages.
