Price or Trade Value : £800

Up for sale goes a nice used Warwick Thumb BO 4 string bass masterbuilt in Germany in 2004.

You know it all about Warwicks: outstanding build quality and great ergonomics make you feel this sincere pleasure playing them.

This particular one is Masterbuilt - meaning that it was made by a single master luthier from start to finish. Meaning also that every detail is mastered B).

It features super fast and comfy Ovangkol neck bolt-on Ovangkol downsized curved body. Fretboard is of Wenge, frets are like new.
It carries only minor signs of use, namely some small scratches and tiny dents. I'd say it's 8,5-9 / 10.

All original MEC JJ pups and 2 band MEC EQ (with passive mode), factory installed Dunlop straplock buttons (straplocks included).

It will be shipped in generic ABS HSC in good condition, boxed and insured for shipping.

PayPal payment possible with transaction fee shared 50/50, ask me for shipping cost (limited to EU countries).

Interesting, do you have further details regarding the Masterbuild? I was not aware they did this in 2004, intrigued!

Looking at the picture of the back of the headstock, is that the original neck? As they didn't start stamping headstocks like that until around two years ago...

@ Kev,

I'll try to check this out, the previous owner should shed some light on the case.

Cheers

Without checking the serial number, my guess would be this was a replacement neck ordered for the bass, with its original serial number printed on.

Interested if the neck dimensions are the modern dimensions or based on the original neck, as they are different.

The neck on that bass is not original, sadly Warwick are useless at identifying their own instruments...

If that's a new neck, this is a bargain.

The neck on my 2016 corvette masterbuilt is bloody lovely, with a slim C profile. Nicer than my '06 thumb.

MM Stingray Natural with flamed maple neck and board.

Shuker Headless Uberhorn (EMG X+Shuker/Savage pre) 4 string. Awesome!!!
Shuker Modern Jazz (quitled Mahogany bod with 5 piece maple/wenge neck, Antiquity ii's, Schack).
Shuker Series 2 headless (graphite neck, EMG mmtw, BQS circuit)

I know, I'd just go and see it if it were local but its not! So just want to know the back story behind it all.

Is it the camera angle, or is the nut narrower than the neck as well?

I've updated photobucket with closeups of frets (for IFT technology) and night pics (for luminous markers).
I'm not able to track the moment the neck was possibly replaced but it's lovely for sure.

LOL sadly, totally true! ;)
Variously using Warwick, Musicman or Bolin basses.
Played through; Thunderfunk + TC RS210 cabs
Whilst imbibing; Fine Wine or Bottles of 'Dog'.

Looks lovely! Could you comment on the neck width and depth? Is it a slim neck profile, and what is the nut width?
Thanks and good luck
Bass is my favourite.

Lovely indeed :D
The neck has a slim C profile with 38,5 mm width at nut, 19 mm thickness @ 1st fret (from back to fretboard excl. fret), 21 mm @ 5th fret and 23 mm @ 12th fret.
