Great price on the Thomann one then! Should be the same amp yes.

Definitely a great warm sounding amp. Especially if you take the bite button off, it's great for the P Bass + flats motown/blues thing. Then engage it for a more agressive sound.

It's essentially a VT Bass DI with a power amp bolted on, with an additional switch to select the frequency of the mids. This is definitely a nice to have feature as I prefer it shifted to the non-default position of affecting the lower mids (then just use the character knob to control high mids essentially). So in terms of sound you can just look up the many many reviews of the VT Bass pedals.

The amp does have some downsides, though:

- It doesn't seem as loud as some other 500W amps. Namely my Orange Terror Bass, but then again that is LOUD for a supposed 500W. It seems on par with the Streamliner and Tonehammer amps I've tried although I've not A/B'ed them. I've not had to crank the volume to max though so I suppose it is loud enough for my purposes.

- If you turn the blend off to get a clean amp sound, there is no gain control and you may well then struggle to get enough volume.

- The master volume affects the DI output level. So if you are DI-ing to FOH and want to adjust your stage volume, that will also affect the PA.

Great little amp though. However I am considering moving to a VTDI on the board and a loud transparent amp that will let me fiddle with EQ and volume for my rig without affecting the PA sound. Then again I could do that with this amp, using the dry out from the VTDI to the amp!
